The Rotary Club of West Jacksonville is off to a good start for the new year.

The Rotary Club of West Jacksonville will have the opportunity to conduct a Purple Pinkie Project for the first time this Thursday (September 8, 2011) at the Chaffee Trail Elementary school open house.

Youth Exchange:
During this year the club became interested in one of Rotary International’s most successful programs, the International Youth Exchange. The Rotary Club of West Jacksonville had another great Saturday preparing and serving meals at the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless. Getting started:
The officers for this year were those elected for the provisional club. The first year was devoted largely to orientation of the charter members and the selection of the best—qualified professionals and businessmen in the westside for membership.

The year began with 116 Active, 18 Senior Active, and 6 Honorary Members. At the year end there were 117 Active, 21 Senior Active, and 7 Honorary Members.
Meeting Location:
The club settled into its new location for regular meetings, the Holiday Inn Commonwealth.
