We observed a moment of atonement by acknowledging Yom Kippur. We trust everyone’s sins are expiated appropriately. And we learned that even Honey Baked Ham is not the best thing in life.

Clay Riley recognized his Grandson as the ACC Offensive Player of the Week for Wake Forest.

Happy Birthday to all of you!!!

Bob Kidd read a resolution honoring Gray Strum for his lifetime of service to our country and our community. Gray’s wife and daughters were able to join us for this ceremony. Thank you, Gray.

David Martin recognized our “Teacher of the Quarter” Alice Smith, from Henry Kite ES. Ms. Smith was joined by her new principal, Ms. Deidre Johnson.

Nina Sasser welcomed our visiting Rotarians and special guests. We also learned that fairy tales can begin with any manner of opening lines, including: “If elected, I promise.”

A pain free Frank Scheu introduced our guest speaker, Mr. Donnie Lamey, President of Discover Tec.

Mr. Lamey presented to our club an overview of the evolution of web based interactions and social marketing opportunities. We learned of Web 1.0, then the move to Web 2.0, and now are anticipating the full arrival of Web 3.0. The presentation was informative, and several questions arose from the collected Rotarians. Unfortunately for the rest of us, Marshall Butler seemed to be the only other person in the room that knew everything Mr. Lamey was talking about.
