Donny Lamey
President and CEO of DiscoverTec
Donny Lamey is the President and CEO of DiscoverTec, LLC. Born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Donny graduated from The University of West Florida with a B.S. degree in Information Systems. Donny started DiscoverTec in 1993 and relocated to Jacksonville in 1995. For the past 15 years, DiscoverTec has been a leading technology services company and was selected as one of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 50 fastest growing companies for 3 consecutive years. In 2005, Donny was selected by the Jacksonville Business Journal as one of the Top 40 under 40 Up and Comers. In 2007, DiscoverTec was ranked as the 16th largest integration company in the country by CE Pro. Donny is also the founder of other companies including My Executive Center and Elite Technology Solutions. He is a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Sales & Marketing Council of Northeast Florida Builders Association. Donny is also on the board of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and President Elect of the South Point Rotary Club. Donny and his wife Julie have been married for 14 years and have a 5 year old daughter, Meagan.

Marty Sack provided an update on the Family of Rotary:
- Bob Shircliff Way at St. Vincent’s. Congratulations to Bob for his support of St. Vincent’s.
- Bill Gay honored by the naming of the Bill Gay Field at the Gator Bowl. Congratulations to Bill for this honor.
- Marty dispelled the vicious rumor regarding the naming of the Dawkins Depository at UGA stadium.
Chad Miller received the rest of his literature as our new member. Welcome Chad!
John recognized members with perfect attendance for 21-27 years. Bob Kidd and Ken Baker led the pack with 27 years of perfect attendance each. Jim Lanier (26), Jim Overton (25) Bill Gladney (22), and Charlie Wilson and John Barley (21). Congratulations to all of our perfect attendees.
Nina Sasser introduced visiting Rotarians and honored guests. She also described perfectly the driving situation for most of us when we get on 9A.
Jim lanier introduced our guest speaker: Neil Armingeon, St. Johns. Riverkeeper to address issues related to the St. Johns River. The RK focuses on issues affecting the health and vitality of the St. Johns.

- We are using water too fast.
- How we use water in the future is the biggest threat
- Urged us to engage in the river and its health
- Time for meaningful conversation regarding the river
